Yakov Polonsky, Russian poet, 1896. Polonsky (1820-1898) was a leading poet in the Romantic tradition of Pushkin. Several Russian composers, including Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, put his poems to music. Found in the collection of the State Central Literary Museum, Moscow.
