French grunts shoaling on a coral reef. French grunts (Haemulon flavolineatum) inhabit reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean, from South Carolina, USA, to Brazil. They commonly form large shoals under corals, and feed on small crustaceans. They can reach a length of around 30 centimetres. Photographed on Little Bahama Bank, Grand Bahama.
