Compute the actual haemoglobin content inthe same manner as from the scale reading of the Fleischlhaemometer (seepage 176). 4. Tallquists Haemoglobin Scale.—This consists essen-tially of a series of ten colors corresponding to stains producedby blood containing varying percentages of haemoglobin. Inusing this scale a drop of blood is allowed to fall on a smallsection of filter paper and the resulting color is compared withthe ten colors of the scale. When the color in the scale isfound which corresponds to the color of the blood stain theaccompanying haemoglobin value is read off* directly. Thisis a very convenient method for determining haemoglobin atthe bedside. There is a possibility of the colors being in-accurately printed, however, and even if originally correct intint, under the continued influence of air and ligh
