Astronomer Patrick Moore as a constellation. Computer artwork showing a constellation of stars that represents the famous face of Sir Patrick Moore. The amateur astronomer is credited as having done more than any other to raise the profile of astronomy amongst the British public. He is probably best known for presenting The Sky at Night on the BBC, the longest running television series with the same original presenter. Other (true) constellations, such as Hercules and Ursa Major are also seen labelled here. The constellations were marked out on a real star field (although many of the stars cannot be seen with the naked eye), taken looking north from the UK at 9 on 15th April 2007.
