Pkt., 25 LEONTOPODIUM (Edelweiss). The famous and true Edelweiss of the Alps, foundgrowing there in the most inaccessible spots among the rocks, and gathered by tourists and mountaineers. Theflowers are of a downy texture, pure white and star-shaped. They are greatly sought after as souvenirs, andare sold at a high price in Switzerland. This lovely little plant is yet little known, though the culture is veryeasy. Sown early in spring in a flat pot filled with sandy peat; mixed with some loam and kept moist it will.
