An owl in the snow. Japan: THESE ADORABLE photos show two fluffy owls huddling together, hugging and hiding from an invading squirrel. One photo shows the cute owl peering curiously down at an intruding squirrel as it climbs up the tree. The Ezo owl, also known as the Ural owl, stands 25 inches tall and has a wing span of five inches wide. They weigh between one and three pounds and are often mistaken for waney owls or the larger great grey owl. These images were captured by photographer Takanori Yoshioka in Hokkaido, Japan, using a Nikon Z9 camera. ?I know several shooting spots for the Ezo owl, and I waited until the Ezo owl appears,? said Takanori. ?I like the facial expressions of animals and the sparkle in their eyes. ?It looked like the Ezo squirrel, which is the target of the owl, was messing with the owl. ?As I watched, I was nervous that it might eat the Ezo mediadrumimages/TakanoriYoshioka
