Rock tombs are very important remains in Kaunos which flourished from the 10th century BC in the southwest of Turkey.

Kaunos was an ancient city with an important port flourishing from the 10th century BC in the southwest of nowadays Turkey. The settlement was in former times at the coast but is now situated 8 km inland. Very impressive remains are the rock tombs along the Dalyan River built from the 4th to the 2nd century BC. Kaunos war eine alte Stadt mit einem wichtigen Hafen im Südwesten der heutigen Türkei. Die Blütezeit dieser Stadt begann im vor Christus. Damals lag der Ort an der Küste, heute finden sich seine Ruinen acht Kilometer landeinwärts. Größte Sehenswürdigkeiten sind die Felsengräber am Dalyan-Fluss, die vom vierten bis zum zweiten Jahrhundert vor Christus gebasut wurden.
