The funicular railway in Kiev that goes down to the River Dneiper from Mykhailivska Square in the upper town to Poshtova Square


These two trains form the funicular railway that was opened in 1905. The route is from the Mykhailivska Square in the upper town to Poshtova Square in the Podil, close to the river Dneiper. The track length is 238 meters, while the gradient of the slope on which the funicular runs is 36 %. The cable cars are powered by an electric motor which is located inside the upper station.
