Extended scissor lift on a street outside a block of flats. This type of aerial work platform (AWP) is used for temporary access to high areas during maintenance or construction work. The scissor lift mechanism can be powered by a hydraulic or pneumatic system. The release of a manual valve reduces the hydraulic or pneumatic pressure, thus ensuring a safe descent to the ground.
