A ceremonial moukhala, Morocco, 19th century. Smooth bore barrel in 15 mm calibre, almost completely covered with geometrically embossed brass with a silver front sight and fixed iron rear sight. The breech end of the barrel is chiselled in relief decoration and set with coral and silver pieces. The snaphaunce lock is partially silver plated and set with coral. The dark wood stock has coral beads inlaid in the region of the lock. The butt stock is set with silver and has a large ivory butt plate.
