Semi-pilasters of the Ionic orderextend to upwards of half the height of thecolumns, and above them is an entablature, overwhich are elegant festoons of drapery, and otherdecorations. The floor of the ambulatory isbeautifully inlaid, particularly the centre, andat each extremity of the north side are ovalgeometrical stair-cases, enlightened by flat ovallanterns in the ceiling.
