On account of its sim-plicity of design this type of tank can be easily constructed bythe farmer or small house owner. Also, by adding another com-partment, or section of pipes, the capacity of the tank can beincreased without disturbing the original construction. Thistank can be followed by a siphon chamber and a subsurface ir-rigation system as with any other type of tank. (Fig. 140.) Subsurface irrigation will serve very satisfactorily to disposeof the effluent periodically discharged from the septic tank, pro-. H i i i i i i i i i i i t=f Laid in pasture or field.
