Teacher Faysal marks school work in a small school in Somaliland.

Teacher Faysal marks school work. The school is made of corrugated steel and has to cater for many more children than it has room for. Faysal and his 2 fellow teachers work in shifts so that all children get a chance to receive some education. AET runs schools in camps for Internally Displaced People in and around Hargeisa. The camps go back to the civil war in 1991 and some of the inhabitants have been there 20 years. Others are new-comers from the countryside fleeing climate change which is causing live stock die and crops to fail - ultimately leading to starvation.
