The meeting closed at5 p. M. Many expressions of approval were heard,as the people separated. Truly the blessing of Godwas present at all the meetings. On Sabbath, September nth, I had the privilege,under the guidance of the Rev. Mr. Wilson, to visitand address two out of his three Sabbath-Schools ;and in addition, I gave three Gospel Talks in eachof his three churches where his widely scatteredpeople meet. Over 400 persons were reached dur-ing the day. To accomplish this a distance oftwenty-two miles had to be traveled. Such a state-ment of facts will give an idea of the great workdone in many of our country districts. Such work. ENCOURAGEMENTS 33 partakes of the noble and grand, and is in thehighest sense ChristUke. IV. BY THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM. The good fruit of any branch of Christian work isan evidence of its worth. Thus judged, the Sab-bath-School mission work of our Church warmlycommends itself to our hearty support and three years ago a Sabbath-School and missionstation was commenced in a needy settlement onthe banks of the Eau Claire River, twelve miles fromWausau. The work has been continued, and a Sab-bath-School mission chapel has been built in whichthe school is held and the gospel frequentlypreached. During the past summer three grandall day services were held at intervals of a fewweeks. To all of these meetings the people cameout in large numbers and gave good heed to thetruth spoken.
