The maxillary dentition consists of two teeth placed close together, or of a transverse bicuspid ridge; lingual teeth serrated. Coasts and fresh waters of the northern ;—Gunther. THE Sea Lamprey, which from its marbled appearance was called Petromyzon maculosus by Artedi, is an inhabitant of the rivers and coasts of Europe, North America, and West Africa, and specimens from all these parts are now in the British Museum. It occurs in 2 c.
