New York, USA. September 1959 – A view of the headquarters building of the United Nations (UN) at the Turtle Bay neighbourhood of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Completed in 1952, the complex was designed by a board of architects led by Wallace Harrison and built by the architectural firm Harrison & Abramovitz. In front of the building is a row of flags representing the member states of the United Nations.
