Hong Kong’s iconic State Theatre is to be preserved after billionaire Adrian Cheng’s New World Development made a compulsory auction purchase of the property for HK$ billion. New World Development has agreed to preserve the cinema with its unique parabolic exoskeleton as part of a multibillion-dollar redevelopment plan.
