This image may not be used to state or imply NOAA endorsement of any company or product Northern hemisphere 'ozone hole' in 1995. Plot of total ozone over the northern hemisphere on 12 March 1995. The colours represent ozone concentration in Dobson Units (DU). Brighter colours (red, orange and yellow) indicate high values. The ozone 'hole' is seen as the dark blue and purple patch at the centre of the frame, where ozone values are around 120DU or lower. Normal ozone levels are around 280DU. The northern hemisphere ozone hole is usually much smaller than its Antarctic counterpart.
