George Bittinger was born February10, 180S, in Franklin county, Penn., andcame with his father, Daniel Bittinger, toAshland county, where the family settled,the father following farming and both parents died, the mother atthe age of eighty, the father at the age ofsixty-six. Their children were: SusAn,Catharine Polly, Betsey, Barbara, Sarah,Daniel and George. George Bittingerwas reared in Franklin county, Penn.,and remained at home up to the age ofeighteen.
