War of Roussillon.
War of Roussillon, also called War of the Pyrenees or War of the Convention, (1793-1795). Conflict between the Spain of Charles IV and the First French Republic. Neither France nor Spain could continue the war, the treasury situation did not allow it. The French Convention appointed Barthelemy and Spain appointed Domingo Iriarte so that, meeting in Basel, they could sign a peace treaty. Domingo Iriarte insisted that the son of King Louis XVI be handed over to the King of Spain. Request from the Spanish court in favour of the sons of Louis XVI. Engraving. Historia del Levantamiento, guerra y revolucion de Espana by the Conde de Toreno. Madrid, 1851.
