Village of Mey, Scotland. Late summer view of the rose garden within the Castle of Mey walled garden, with the Queen Mothers garden seat in the foreground and the Castle of Mey towers in the background. Formerly Barrogill Castle this 16th century ruined castle was purchased by HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, in 1952. After major restoration of the castle, the Queen Mother stayed and visited her Scottish home on an annual basis for almost fifty years. The castle and gardens are a popular visitor attraction for both British and international tourists. The Castle and Gardens of Mey are now managed by the Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust. If required, it may be possible to arrange property release for this image.
