Scavengers on a carcass. Black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas) and vultures (Gyps sp.) feeding on a blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) carcass. The black-backed jackal is a scavenger that inhabits the grasslands, plains and southwestern deserts of Africa.
