The west front of Lichfield Cathedral, Staffordshire, England, UK, displaying over 100 statues including English kings. The cathedral is mainly C13th, the facade of 1300 was built with money from pilgrims visiting the shrine of St Chad who established the See in AD669. Many of the statues were replaced when the facade was restored in the C19th. Lichfield is the only English cathedral to retain three spires (the Ladies of the Vale), the central one was rebuilt after being destroyed by cromwell's troops during the Civil War.
