While photographing the flooded rice terraces in Yunnan province, I saw a group of women carrying heavy baskets up to a construction site. Much of the labor in this area is done by hand, by women as well as by men. I notice how she bent over with the effort of carrying the weight up the stair, and her shadow on the concrete wall.
