The supply has increased materially, but the demand has been so good that it easily takes up all good offerings. The supply of gladioli has increased most of all. The fine large ones can be had in quan- tities and there is a whole lot of stock coming in that is so poor that one can hardly hope to find sales for it. The rose supply, too, has shown a substantial increase. Good roses are arriving in practically all varieties. The stems are better and blooms are larger. The only trouble is that some of the receipts are so full-blown that it is impossible to use them. All that have been arriving in proper shape are selling. The supply of Easter lilies is short. During the last week nearly all of the local growers have been between crops. Auratum lilies are offered in fair quantities and have been meeting with a good market. The cut of rubrum lilies is rather lim- ited. Pond lilies find only an ordinary sale. Regular receipts of choice valley in limited quantities have been selling well. Various Notes. Upward of 350 of florists, families and friends attended the annual outing at Coney Island July 17. Ben George, Jr., took the first prize in bowling and J. Van Welke the second. A. C.
