Henry Granger Knight (1878-1942) and a woman thought to be his wife Nelly Dryden Knight. Henry Knight was chief of the Bureau of Chemistry and Soils, US Department of Agriculture. He is photographed here at the First International Congress of Soil Science conference in Washington DC, held from 13-22 June 1927. He was listed as attending the conference with his wife. Photographed by Watson Davis (1896-1967).
