The Moscow river embankments. To the right you can see the Kremlin wall and Beklemishevskaya tower. The tower was named after Ivan Beklemishev who was the prominent court nobility and clever adviser to the czar Ivan the 3rd, but eventually was beheaded as the dissident. The tower served as the prison for the noble dissidents in 16th century. To the left you can see Sophia embankment named after the Saint Sophia church (you can see the belfry of the church). The yellow building with the green dome to the right of the belfry was built in 1903 as the first in Moscow social and free of charge apartment building for widows and studying maidens. It serves as the headquarter of Rosneft oil company now. Further up the embankment the UK embassy is located. The cathedral of Christ the Savior can be seen in the background. Ivan the Great bell tower is seen to the right.
