Odysseus' wife Penelope is surprised by the suitors at night as they her unraveling her day's weaving.

According to Greek tradition, Penelope was the wife of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. Odysseus spent 10 years fighting against the Trojans (Trojan War said to have been around 1184 ) and then another 10 years trying to get back home. Meanwhile, with many believing Odysseus dead, Penelope had many suitors and she said she would choose whom she would wed as soon as she finished weaving the piece on her loom. But, at night, she would unravel the yarns to delay the decision. Here, Penelope is surprised by the suitors at night as they see what she has been doing.
