The faces of four Presidents -- George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln -- look over an entrance sign to the visitors center at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. The 60-foot (18-meter) heads were carved from the granite mountain by sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln, over a period of 14 years.
