New Mexico Army National Guard Pvt. Caleb Moreno of Lovington, , is the first to earn an appointment into the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMA) and the subsequent four-year Academy through a program with the National Guard. Moreno’s academic performance, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, community involvement and recommendations from his teachers and community leaders helped to secure him a coveted seat at the Academy.
