Ferdinand Bol. Bearded Old Man in a Skull Cap. 1636–1680. Holland. Etching on paper A successful painter, Bol had commissions for official group portraits, as well as historical and allegorical paintings for public buildings in Amsterdam. He made about sixteen etchings, which were greatly influenced by Rembrandt’s prints of the 1630s and 1640s.
