Prostate cancer radiotherapy equipment. These are needles and graduated guides into which radioactive sources are loaded prior to implantation in the prostate of patients with prostate cancer. The number and depth of the sources implanted follows a plan worked out from a volume study, used to create a three-dimensional image of the prostate gland. The graduated guides are used to guide the implants to the correct depth. The procedure, known as brachytherapy, is a form of radiotherapy.
