In-flight portrait of the crew of space shuttle flight STS-31, taken on the mid-deck of the Discovery in April 1990. The principal object of the mission was the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, a model of which is seen at right. Mission commander Loren J. Shriver is seated at lower left and pilot Charles F. Bolden floats above. The other three crewmembers are mission specialists Kathryn D. Sullivan (centre), Bruce McCandless (lower right, holding mission emblem) and Steven A.
