Piazza Baldassare Galuppi in Burano. Burano is part of a group of islands in the Venice Lagoon and is best known for it's hand made lace and and colourful houses. Burano is easily assessable from Venice via the Valperetto service (water buses). The foreground statue is of Baldassare Galuppi (1706 – 1785). Galluppi was an Italian composer, born on the island and commemorated in having the Piazza named in his honour.
