That is the term that Westlock Agricultural Society President, Bob Jones, used to describe the organization's recent "Evening with Northlands". Twice each year Edmonton Northlands selects an Agricultural Society to recognize the efforts of the group in profile in the rural community. This year, for the first time, the Westlock Agricultural Society was one of the two fairs chosen by the Northlands committee. The Westlock group chose to holds its Evening with Northlands in conjunction with its annual "Volunteer Appreciation Night". Bob Jones felt it was a very fitting way to recognize the efforts of the over 300 volunteers that make the annual Westlock fair a reality. Commented Jones, "Without the efforts of the volunteers we could not hold a fair. It's that ; Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the Westlock Agricultural Society. To mark the event, plans are already underway for a bigger and better fair, including an extension from three days to four. Emphasis will be placed on showing fairgoers the "good old days" of agriculture.
