The cutteris actuated by a pull and pushrod leading to the outside of thecamera. THE FILM CUTTER ANDGROUND GLASS PLATE Seeing theImage The eye-piece, asshown above,enables the photog-rapher to see the actual imagebeing recorded on the negative—sometliing hitherto unheard consists of a square metal boxwith a sliding end fitted with alight-proof, black velvet rim forthe eye. A spring which serves tolift the eye-piece up and whichcloses the finding aperture bya metal stop at the same time,is pressed down when the eyerests against the rim. This givesthe photographer an unobstruc-ted view of the image falling onthe negative ^ECONQWr•SHELL
