Erythema on a man's hands
Erythema on the hands of a 21 year old male patient. Erythema refers to a reddening of the skin. It occurs when the blood capillaries closest to the surface of the skin are congested and dilated due to inflammation or injury. This often occurs after using a particular drug or having an underlying disease or infection. This case was triggered by a photosensitive reaction to the antibiotic doxycycline.
