The area around the Tidal Basin and West Potomac Park in the aftermath of Washington DC's blizzard of January 2016, dubbed by the locals as Snowzilla.


The Washington Monument, an iconic landmark in the United States, is a towering obelisk located on the National Mall in Washington, Completed in 1884, the monument was built to honor George Washington, the country's first president and a key figure in its founding. The structure stands at 555 feet (169 meters) tall, making it the world's tallest stone structure and obelisk. It is constructed primarily of marble, granite, and sandstone. Designed by architect Robert Mills, the monument underwent a 37-year construction process, interrupted by the Civil War and lack of funds.
