Jab Jab dates back to the Plantations of Grenada during the days of slavery. The oil, grease and black paint are substitute for the molasses that was used to cover their body. Thick heavy chains are dragged in the streets, goat horns worn on heads with red tongues or raw flesh sticking outside their mouths. Other props used include baby strollers with dolls Oil drums, biscuit tins and conch shells are their instruments as they are beaten hypnotically as the Jab Jab parade through the streets. Sipping rum, the produce of molasses and their blood and tears
