John Muir statue on High Street, Dunbar. Scotland

John Muir was born in Dunbar in 1838 and moved to America in 1849 with his parents aged 11 years old. He was a very influential figure in the establishment of early national parks in North America, and because of this is sometimes called "Father of the National Parks" and "John of the Mountains". The statue is located on Dunbar High Street outside the Dunbar Museum and shows John Muir as a young boy. Dunbar is a coastal town of the North Sea in East Lothian, Scotland. It has a small and active working fishing harbour that is also used by small leisure boats. The town is located about 30 miles east of Edinburgh, and 25 miles north of the English border.
