38-star US silk flag, company colors of the Bain Zouaves, a St. Louis post-Civil War militia company. The Bain Zouaves was a company of the St. Louis Police Reserves Regiment, which formed in 1877 as a result of that year's railroad strike, before becoming a company under state service in the 3rd Regiment National Guard of Missouri.
