This image was created using a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) with elevation colour-coded from purple (lowest elevations) through blue, green, yellow and red to beige and white (highest elevations). The data was obtained by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express, on 6 February 2009 during orbit number 6547. Mars Express is a European Space Agency spacecraft that has been orbiting Mars since December 2003.
