President of Great Rivers Habitat Alliance Adolphus Busch presented award on behalf of Department of Interior. As founder and chairman of the Great Rivers Habitat Alliance in St. Louis, Busch has been a pioneer in preserving floodplain habitats and riverways along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Under his leadership, the alliance has educated public and policy makers about the hazards of developing floodplains, emphasizing their importance as natural water storage areas, wildlife habitat and productive farmland.
