Faringdon Folly, seen against a clear blue sky. Built by Lord Berners, this building was used in the 1977 TV program 'The New Avengers' where Purdy was kidnapped and held in the Folly. It is built on Folly Hill, where Cromwell had a battery of canon and fired upon the cavaliers stationed in Faringdon, during the English Civil war, destroying the steeple of All Saints Church.
