Electricity transmission pylons from the Dungeness Nuclear Power Station pass the 116m (370 feet) high Little Cheyne Court Windfarm turbines on the Kent-Sussex border of Romney Marsh. The 26 turbines, started by nPower Renewables in June 2008, generate enough power for 33,000 homes and prevent the annual release of some 130,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Their 52-78 megawatt output is small, however, compared to the 1,100 megawatts a year of the Dungeness Station, and their are complaints of visual pollution and disruption to the marshland habitat.
