The first floor windows and the granite facade of F W Woolworth & Co Ltd at 8-9 Bridge Street, originally built as a Burton store. The Burton store on Bridge Street was built in 1937; a foundation stone was laid by Raymond Montague Burton. Granite facades feature on around 15 Burton stores, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Kingston-upon-Hull, and Reading. The suppliers of the granite may have been Fenning & Co of Hammersmith.
