Open kitchen with bar counter seating and chefs at work. The Palomar Restaurant, London, United Kingdom. Architect: Gundry & Duc
The Palomar is a restaurant in Soho serving the food of modern-day Jerusalem. Our concept involved the idea of the collector and the traveller and was designed to reflect the rich geographical and cultural mix of the food served. The interior evokes the glamorous era of travel whilst being contemporary and belonging in its Soho location. The restaurant uses a simple but refined palette of materials: brass, marble and mahogany veneer. Although a very small site, the space combines a bar surrounding an open kitchen at the front with a more formal dining room at the back. The restaurant has been highly acclaimed and is considered to be one of the top ten in London.
