The greenhouse heating equipment advertised in this paper is, we believe, the best for the trade to buy, and each article the best in the special field of its adaptation. BOILEB AT GREENHOUSE LEVEL. Will you kindly inform me as to the best way of heating a single green- house, 20x60, with steam? The diffi- culty will be to get a good return. I cannot sink the boiler lower than the greenhouse, but can place it about level. Is there any means of helping the cir- culation that is cheaper than the steam trap! I am located in northern Ten- nessee. M. R. H.—Tenn. Even in a house of the size of the one described, it is desirable that the water level in the boiler be two feet below the level of the returns. If this arrangement cannot be secured, a steam trap will be found the cheapest way of handling the return water, unless cheap electric power is available, when an electric pump might be used. It is stated that the boiler can be "placed about ; If this means that the top of the boiler will be about level with the floor of the greenhouse, it will probably be possible to use a gravity system if the returns are placed on the walls. To heat a house 20x60 feet, without glass in the side walls, to 60 degrees when the temperature is at zero out- side, I would run a 2-inch main about two feet below the ridge to the farther end of the house and there connect it with four 1^-inch returns on each of the side walls, raising them two feet abo
