On ahead, we could see the gi-eat grovein which the manor-house stands, looming upin the midst of the cleared land like a smallforest reservation. Our route this timebrought us to the homestead from the land-ward side through an open park, and we gota better view of the building than the densefoliage on the other side had permitted. Thehouse is of the long colonial type, consistingof a square central building, two large flank-ing wings, and corridors.
