The name of Golden Lily, given to LycoTis aurea, should, by right, belong to this. It is one of the many new bulbs received by us direct from Peru, and will no doubt prove a valuable ad- dition to the favorites of the garden and greenhouse; 20c each, three for 50c. CHLOROGALLUM. "Soap-plant" and "good-afternoon" are quaint applications given to this cariosity, the bulbs of which are used in California as a substitute for soap. The foliage is quite ornamental, growing to a height of two feet, while the flowers produced on numerous branches are white, with a purple vein through the center'of petals. Tr^at same as Chlid- anthus. Prefers rich, loose, sandy soil. 20c each, 3 for 50c. Crinum Americaniiiii. A na- tive species, bearing numerous spikes of white, sweet-scented flowers. Not by any means the showiest, but giving a deal of satisfaction for low price; 30 to 7oc. Crinum Capense rosea (From Cape Colony). While much praise has been bestowed on some Crinums sold at $1 to S3 each, here is one which is just as beautiful, and which would be perfectly hardy in any but the most northern localities, with a slight protec- tion. Its flowers are borne on stems 2 to 3 feet high; they are very large, funnel-shaped, white, tinged with red, and produced in umbels of 10 to 20, blooming several times dur- ing the season.
